Battle scars and Bagels (err Beagles)

So I got a phone call from Alex on tuesday, he told me he was having a cast put on his wrist, I found out later from his mother that he was on a swing set and was dared by another kid to jump off. He was 7 feet from the ground, and well I guess he landed on his feet, and errm, hands breaking his wrist. BUT they didnt know right away, alex was hurt, but apparently he also has my pain threshold, because he was flopping his wrist around and acting like it wasnt hurting.

His mother decided to take him to the doctor JUST in case, they xrayed and low and behold, his wrist was broken. So now he is wearing a green cast on his wrist like a medal or something.

Mom linked me some waterproof cast covers that i think we are going to but so alex can at least go swimming during his summer vacation.

IN OTHER NEWS
We have a bagel now! wait I mean beagle. Dont have a name for her yet, but she is really cute ( I think she is anyway) Nita was really wanting a puppy for a while now, so we broke down and got one. Just another person to add to the family. We now consist of Nita, baby barnett, Alex, C.C., Kitten, Bagel(NOT ITS NAME LOL) and me. Wow what a family, but we rock!

To Commemorate national geek pride day

Today is National Geek pride day! If you are a geek this is the day to show everyone! Why was this day chosen to be national geek pride day? Well if anyone remembers What was released in 1977 on this day, then you might know, BUT i'm not going to tell you :p Go look it up!

Here is a basic list of Geek rights and responsibilities!!!!!! the last one on the list is VITAL!!! make sure you do it.

Rights:

  1. The right to be even geekier.
  2. The right to not leave your house.
  3. The right to not like football or any other sport.
  4. The right to associate with other nerds.
  5. The right to have few friends (or none at all).
  6. The right to have as many geeky friends as you want.
  7. The right to be out of style.
  8. The right to show off your geekiness.
  9. The right to take over the world.

Responsibilities:

  1. Be a geek, no matter what.
  2. Try to be nerdier than anyone else.
  3. If there is a discussion about something geeky, you must give your opinion.
  4. To save and protect all geeky material.
  5. Do everything you can to show off geeky stuff as a "museum of geekiness."
  6. Don't be a generalized geek. You must specialize in something.
  7. Attend every nerdy movie on opening night and buy every geeky book before anyone else.
  8. Wait in line on every opening night. If you can go in costume or at least with a related T-shirt, all the better.
  9. Don’t waste your time on anything not related to geekdom.
  10. Try to take over the world!

You say Tomato...

I say we're 19 weeks along this week. ^_^ Babycenter.com has this to say about it:

"Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato"

How exciting is that, eh? :D

When I am home alone in the morning, I frequently talk to the cats (I know, crazy cat lady) or narrating the things I'm doing for the baby and Tatum now has a routine in the mornings when he heads off to work where he makes sure to hug and kiss me and now the baby as well. ^.^ He spends about as much time speaking to me as he does down at the baby's level speaking into my belly. What an amazing father you have, little baby. I am quite blessed to be sharing this experience with such a wonderful man. ♥

:3

Well now, since it looks like Tatum already has TWO entries under his belt, I thought it would be appropriate to give my knuckles a crack and type out something for you lovely readers.

[I thought this image was appropriate, especially since my cat, who happens to look exactly like this one, is grooming himself on my tower.]

I woke up this morning with thoughts of the past year swirling in my head. By the end of this month, the 27th to be exact, I will be living here in Amarillo witht the love of my life for an entire year now. On the 26th we go for our...fourth? prenatal visit and on the 7th of June [26 Days, 00 Hours, and 31 Minutes as I type this] we get the chance to see our bellpepper child again, and if it's cooperative, we find out the gender! ^.^

As I reflect on all of these things, I can't help but be overjoyed and so thankful for the way my life has transitioned in this past year alone. I've stepped out of comfort zones and broken down barriers left and right. Life is wonderful, to say the least.

Phonage!

I think being able to post from my phone is what might make keep going on this, though I'm pretty sure the only people who will ever read this is my family.  I might be suprised though.

I just finished with the 6th book in the wheel of time series and I must say, I'm impressed. If you haven't read them do so, they are amazing! Just the amount of adventure and thrill to keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.  I'm tempted to start another series up when I get done with this one, called the game of thrones.  Nita and I started watching the hbo special on it and I must say, I don't think a tv show has ever had me as captivated since the dragon ball series.  Very good show, so I want to see what the books entail.

Blogs ahoy!!!

I have wanted to start a blog for awhile now, just procrastination always takes ahold of me. Well that just goes to show you tatum at his finest. Lol welcome to our blog, I figured since we are about to have a baby, we should have a place to post about the funny and interesting stuff the baby does, and everything that is going on with us.

Nita is 18 weeks along this week, she is so excited about it. Very happy that she is having a baby, and super excited about us going to see the doctor again on the 7th of june, we should be able to tell what we are having by then, so we can let everyone know. If you have name suggestions please tell us, we are having trouble thinking of some. I like old names (like greek mythology old) and she likes old names (like 1920s old). We have come up with a few we both like though, she says we need to start a list, which I suppose we do.

Well back to work for me, don't expect long reads from me, specially if I do it from my phone, typing a novel is hard on a small keyboard with only your thumbs to type with.

Ttfn~tata for now
